Get Your Listing Photo-Ready

Follow this guide to make sure your listing shines bright on shoot day!

GETTING READY FOR YOUR SHOOT

A little preparation goes a long way. The photos and video we capture are often the first impression a buyer has of the home, so the better it looks on shoot day, the stronger it will perform online. Use this guide to have everything camera-ready before we arrive. Short on time? Focus on decluttering, lighting, and clean surfaces — those three make the biggest difference.

BEFORE WE ARRIVE (WHOLE HOME)

- Turn on every light and lamp, and replace any burnt-out bulbs (matching bulb colors looks best on camera).

- Open all blinds and curtains to let in natural light.

- Turn off all ceiling fans and TVs.

- Clear countertops, tables, and floors of clutter, mail, and everyday items.

- Remove or hide trash cans, recycling bins, and pet items (bowls, beds, litter boxes, toys).

- Tuck away cords, chargers, and remotes.

- Put away personal items like family photos, medications, and valuables.

- Straighten rugs, pillows, and furniture, and open interior doors for better flow between rooms.

KITCHEN

- Clear countertops down to one or two simple decorative items.

- Hide dish soap, sponges, drying racks, and paper towels.

- Remove magnets, papers, and photos from the refrigerator.

- Wipe down appliances and shine the sink.

- Push in bar stools and chairs.

LIVING & DINING AREAS

- Fluff and arrange sofa pillows and throws.

- Clear coffee tables except for a simple centerpiece or a few books.

- Straighten furniture, and remove excess pieces if the room feels crowded.

- Set the dining table simply, or leave it clean and empty.

BEDROOMS

- Make every bed with your best linens and smooth out any wrinkles.

- Clear nightstands and dressers down to a few items.

- Remove anything visible from under the beds.

- Tidy closets if they'll be photographed — otherwise, close the doors.

BATHROOMS

- Clear counters of toiletries, toothbrushes, and everyday products.

- Hang fresh, matching towels.

- Set floor mats and trash cans out of frame.

- Put toilet lids down, and close or open shower curtains neatly — whichever looks more finished.

EXTERIOR & CURB APPEAL

- Move all vehicles out of the driveway and away from the front of the home.

- Move trash and recycling bins out of view.

- Mow, trim, and clear the yard of hoses, tools, and toys.

- Sweep walkways and porches, and clear away leaves and debris.

- Remove seasonal decorations unless they're intentional.

- Store pool equipment and coil away any exposed hoses.

IF DRONE IS INCLUDED

- Let us know about any pets outside so we can plan around them.

- Move vehicles off the driveway and the street in front of the home if possible.

- Roll up hoses and stow yard equipment — aerial shots capture the full property.

PETS & OCCUPIED HOMES

- Please secure pets in a crate or garage, or take them out during the shoot, for their safety and ours.

- If the home is occupied, we recommend sellers step out during the appointment. It's faster for everyone and lets us work freely.

DAY OF THE SHOOT

- Have the home fully ready before your arrival window begins — we start photographing as soon as we arrive.

- Set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature.

- Do one last lighting pass: lights on, fans off, blinds open.

- Tell us about any focal points or unique features you'd like us to highlight.

A QUICK NOTE

We'll always do our best to capture the home beautifully, but our lenses can't move furniture, clean rooms, or clear clutter. The time you spend preparing directly shapes the final result — a well-prepped home simply photographs better. Thank you for helping us make it shine.
